Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator and users in connection with the use of y-to-x ("Service").

Article 2 (Service Description)

y-to-x provides the following free online conversion tools:

• Address lookup: road address, land-lot address, English address, and postal code search
• Currency converter: real-time exchange rates for 18 currencies with trend charts
• Image converter: format conversion (JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF), GIF creation, AI background removal
• Text extraction: extract body text from web pages via URL
• Unit converter: length, weight, temperature, area, volume, and speed
• Markdown viewer: live Markdown rendering and URL outline extraction

Article 3 (Use of Service)

• The Service may be used free of charge without account registration.
• An internet connection and web browser are required to use the Service.
• Users must use the Service lawfully and for its intended purposes.

Article 4 (Advertising)

• To sustain free access, the Service may display advertisements through third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense.
• The text extraction feature is free for one use; additional uses may require watching a Rewarded Ad. Watching the ad is entirely voluntary — completing it unlocks further use of the feature.
• Ads may be personalised based on your interests in accordance with Google's ad personalisation policies. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
• Ad content is provided by third-party advertisers; the operator is not responsible for the content of advertisements.

Article 5 (User Obligations)

Users must not engage in the following activities:

• Infringing third-party rights or distributing illegal content through the Service
• Sending automated requests (scraping, bots, etc.) that place excessive load on servers or networks
• Fraudulently manipulating the ad system, including circumventing ad blockers or fabricating ad clicks
• Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
• Any act in violation of applicable laws and regulations

Article 6 (Disclaimer)

• Exchange rate, address, and other information provided by the Service is based on data from external public APIs; accuracy and currency are not guaranteed. Please verify critical information with official sources.
• The quality of image conversion and background removal results may vary depending on the input image; the operator is not responsible for processing outcomes.
• The text extraction feature may not function correctly depending on the structure of the target web page and whether access is permitted.
• The operator is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from service outages, data loss, or unavailability.

Article 7 (Service Changes and Suspension)

The operator may change or suspend all or part of the Service without prior notice for operational or technical reasons. However, for significant changes, advance notice will be provided whenever possible.

Article 8 (Intellectual Property)

Intellectual property rights in the Service's source code, design, and content belong to the operator. Users retain rights to their own files and content processed through the Service.

Article 9 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any disputes related to the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Korean courts.

Article 10 (Amendment of Terms)

The operator may amend these Terms as necessary; any amendments will be announced through an in-service notice. Amended Terms take effect 7 days after the announcement.
